We might be talking about a "loaded" XL vs. a stripped down "XLT". I don't know.
Possible. My XL was $27.5 after taxes (4%) and fees. Never went into detail about XLT's since even with rebates they were a little over $30k before taxes. (Deals may very, but just what I experienced) Nothing besides the SYNC3 is worth the extra price for an XLT to me. IMO XLT's are inflated in price to make the rebates look better.

Hopefully the parts will be lower when I am ready to buy the kit with SYNC3 becoming more and more available.

Adding features after the sale can be cheaper than factory because many times certain things like heated seats are only available in a package of options. Why pay for options you don't want or need?
In some cases the aftermarket equivalent options are cheaper and better quality than factory.

I purchased my new truck last week and it went in this Monday to get things like leather, tonneau cover, front windows tinted, bug shield and Ford rubber floor mats. Looking forward to getting her back tomorrow afternoon!

I built my own XL online and did a custom order through my dealer. After owning it two weeks I had added a XLT Sport grill, rear wheel well liners, tailgate assist, blacked out hood decal, bed cover and the stainless tailpipe tip. Now I kind of have the XLT Sport but for way cheaper!

I added OEM navigation to my truck.

I am also considering to change from column to floor shifter (I already have the flow-through console in my truck). The only thing I haven't figured out yet is if the shifter wiring harness will reach to the new location or if there is a plug&play harness available. I doubt that they make two completely different dash harness just for the shifter.

I did the same swap in my Dodge Ram 2500....was easy because Dodge sells a short harness extension.
