I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but if you just want them to act like the front windows, where you push down a little further on the button and the window will go down all the way (vice versa for up), then I've seen that done previously with a little hassle.

I don't understand enough about how the Ford's work to say how easy it would be, but you can do it with a lot of cars with a diode. Sometimes, you can source an extra driver side assembly from a junk yard and swap the two front buttons with the rear buttons on yours to get the click.

Just google "auto up/down windows diode" and you should get some direction.

I read somewhere that someone swapped the rear switches with the front, so that part is doable. From there, one should be wire in either an oem or aftermarket control module.

The link I posted above supplies an aftermarket module that they claim works in most domestic and import cars and uses your factory switches. I was thinking of doing this mod but I rarely have rear seat passengers and when I do they don't want the windows down. Hell if they made a f150 convertable I would own one! The rear seat passengers be damned. LOL

That's exactly what I was looking to do!

It has nothing to do with the switches. Our front doors have modules that control the one touch up/down and there aren't any modules for the rear doors. I have heard it might be possible to wire in OEM modules but the after market kits seem to have great reviews and should be easier.

If you want the rear switched to work like the front, it DOES have to do with the switch. Aftermarket modules rely on a long press of a dual-position switch to auto down and up the windows, while oem uses four-position switches. Yes, you have to use the oem four-position switches if you are going to use the oem controller. Yes, there is a thread buried in this forum where someone was doing that.

Since the window modules do not talk to the truck, This is doable. Yes, it is more work, as you have to swap out the switches.

Seems like with every post I get closer to reading what I want to know, and I think you just hit it on the head. If I’m understanding you correctly, swapping to the one touch switches in the rear doors should work without any change in motors etc?

The door modules do communicate with the truck. When you have turn signals they are controlled by the module, no wire goes back to the truck for them (MS-CAN). Also the front windows are controlled by the switch telling the module to raise/lower the windows via a LIN circuit, the switch does not control the window directly. If the modules did not have a network connection to the truck, the auto power folding mirrors would not work.

Also I programmed with forscan the "global windows" so I can lower the 2 front with my key fob. They're definitely connected to the CAN-BUS network.

So, is this a goal that’s actually achievable and how do I get there?

Btw I appreciate all the feedback everyone!
