That’s awesome. Thanks for the information. Might just be my next mod then.

My '18 came with the home link visor. I've found the range to be extremely poor. I've needed to extend the antenna on the garage door opener to make it usable. Others on this form have expressed the same concern. If you do go this route, I advise you not to buy the one that came with the 2018s.

Curious... From how far away are you wanting it to work?

I just retrofitted one in my 2020 XLT -- it was ordered new from a big parts house in the last few months, so I don't know what "year" it was supposed to be from. Perhaps there has been an update since 2018?

Anyways, my retrofitted one works fine if I am in my 30' driveway or right in front of my house, or even 1 house down (homes are close here in LV). Personally, I really don't want it to be sensitive enough that it works at distances beyond that, but your situation may be different than mine.

I put one in my 2017 XLT several years ago and it works several houses down, probably 400' away.

I start to have issues at 40ft. Need to lower the visor to get it to work. No issues with the remote that came with the opener. This is a rolling code opener. My second button is programmed to another fixed code opener and that will work houses away.

My buddy also has an 18' and he has reception issues too. It's something i just learned to live with.
