Default Adding Ford Power steps?

Has anyone added the factory ford power steps? Is there a location that plugs under the truck I should look for or should I just go with the non ford Amps? Thanks in advance.

AMP Plug and Play is going to be easier and cheaper unless you are getting the OEM Ford steps for free. It probably took me an hour to install.

Has anyone added the factory boards to a truck that did not come with them?

There are several threads on the amp steps around here. If I remember right - I think AMP makes the factory step - could be wrong on that. And if you find factory steps - you'd have to have computer programming for them as well. The AMP's have two different harnesses - you can choose - one requires more wiring, the other is more plug and play.

Correct. Amp does make them. I didn't find a thread with someone adding factory steps. Just didn't know if it was a plug into factory harness and make a few changes in Forscan easy or not.

Found one thread with the discussion - it was buried a ways down in my search - https://www.f150forum.com/f118/insta...boards-355499/

Thank you for the link. Looks like it's not worth it.

Not worth the time and expense. The amp's are really easy to install. Post your stock running boards on eBay and offer up. Mine sold in three days.

I had the Amp Power steps installed, the only thing that is missing over the factory steps is being able to control them from the dash. A big advantage of the Amp steps is they have 5 year 60k warranty where I think the factory steps even ordered with the truck would only have a 3/36 warranty.
