Default Adding Ford OEM Remote Start

New to the forum, excuse my inexperience.

Have a 2019 F-150 XL 3.3L V6 that didn’t come with remote start from factory. Saw some videos of other owners purchasing Ford OEM remote start module and using IDS or FORScan to code it in.

Issue is I can’t positively identify what OEM module fits my vehicle (or if this whole thing is really possible to do with my truck) but I wanted to keep it OEM. Part number has me at a stop.

Any advice? Have everything I need to code module in just no clue what part number matches my vehicle. Some said certain modules work regardless (using jumper cable) some said it didn’t…

Thanks for the help in advance.

Done a search and came up with a Dealer that has a lot of system parts and info.
Look up FAIRWAY FORD, CANFIELD, OH.
They need your VIN. and / or call their parts department.
Notes all say you need Power windows and Power Locks for factory install full operation.
Best to contact them to be sure.
.
There are some aftermarket systems that are nearly plug and play and many videos on them.
START-X.
AMERICAN TRUCKS.
May work if you only want remote start.
.
Nice GTO. Had a new 65 Tripple Carbed back in the day.
.
Good luck.

New to the forum as well,

I'm getting ready to add remote start to my 2011 F150 ECO as well, I have a question about the antenna location. All the install videos I've watched show it being located above the headliner (centered). Can it be located under the dash pad behind the radio ? Does it make a difference with range or
interference ?

The location is shrouded by other metal and inside the Cab for RF signal. That's why Antennas are outside.
Expect shorter distance performance.
The later stock Transceiver is located in the Cab roof, rear passenger side.
Sometimes it does not get my Fob request at some distance and angle but in the clear as far as almost 100 yards if given a little help placing the Fob up high or under the Chin. So you never know from time to time. And Battery level also makes a difference.
Frequency is in the 900-megahertz Band on my 2018. The system you have might be lower in Frequency around 315
Good luck.

Just get this OEM FORD ALARM it will give you basic remote start — it will give you basic remote start. It’s super easy to install, hooks up to the back of your OBD port, and you don’t need to go to the dealer. You don’t even need a laptop to configure it.

https://www.ford.com/product/vehicle...us-p2926438331
  • When there’s sufficient impact to the glass or a body panel, the 2-stage shock sensor determines whether to issue a warning chirp or full alarm
  • When activated by your Ford Dealer, the Basic Remote Start System is also included; start your vehicle from up to 300’ away
  • Parking lights remain on during remote start so you know the engine is idling
  • Run time and other features are easily programmed through the vehicle’s driver information center

If you're talking about the OEM remote start, on the 12th gens, as long as you already have keyless entry it just piggybacks off that and uses the existing antenna.

I'm thinking you are looking for a "Perimeter Plus" module. It is plug and play no Forscan needed that I recall. It has both capability to alarm when a bump or shock to the body happens along with remote start. It piggy backs on the OBD2 port. https://www.ford.com/parts Enter you vin here and it'll give the part number when you search. The part # changes to designate the MY but is essentially the same.

The Start-X aftermarket for my 2018 was about a 3 minute install. It took longer to zip tie the wiring out of the way than it did to do the programming sequence. The stock fobs fire it right up. Later on, someone around here created a post on adding cellular capability to the system. That too was piece-o'-cake once I received the parts.
