I was under the impression that the factory sub came with an amp

There's almost zero value to adding the center speaker. It might actually make things sound worse particularly if you go with the cheap OEM version.

Lots of folks who swap out the OEM door/pillar speakers for better aftermarket ones just unplug the center speaker if they have one, for good reason.

If I wanted to go thru all the trouble of band-passing the center speaker and attenuating all except the 'voice frequencies' and also be able to lower the volume on it separately, I think it would be useful for talk radio, comedy channel, news, etc. Otherwise, it would serious flub up my music.

Maybe this mod isn't worth it then. I know the dash speaker is a smaller speaker. I'm pretty happy with the basic sound system the truck came with. I was just wondering if adding the speaker there would make it even better. But, you all are saying it won't. So I'll probably skip this mod.

I agree with UncleG on this one. The center channel is just going to muddy up your sound quality. From Fords prospective it is just a marketing gimmick.

I upgraded my radio to a GUA 12” system saw the same speaker wire plugged in the a dummy plug on the tray so I bought the speaker panel to add the center speaker but the speaker is not working. Does anyone have an idea why it won’t work or need to have the dealer program it to work?
