Default Adding additional LED's to truck bed

I just put a cap on my new truck and I am needing some additional light. Previously I had a 2010 with a cap and I just tapped into the continuous power wire for the trailer. But now that I have my new 16 with all the new computers and technology I thought I had better ask the people in the know. I have learned so much from this forum, so any help will be much appreciated.

I added a couple to the underside of my bed rail and just tied into the factory bed led's. If you add a lot you may need to add a relay.

I did the same. Easy, clean, no issues.

You can add the OEM LEDs for about $200

I tapped into the trailer hot wire for power. You can grab it right by the socket and fish power wires up through the tail light area. Radioshack rocker switches fit perfectly in the holes near where your tailgate meets the bed rails. This wiring strategy gives you manually switched power that shuts off with the cargo lights. You can't accidentally discharge your battery.

I wired some LED strip lights to a switch (rocker switch in bed) and hooked that up to my battery (via inline fuse). I snaked the power wire from the engine compartment to the rear bed inside the frame for most of it.

I wanted complete independent control over the bed lights, without having to turn on the cargo lights (interior switch) first.

A 6.5 strip of LEDs down each side is plenty of light in there now!

I dont have any experience with wiring before this and I was able to do this with tutorials from like 5+ different threads and searching for hours and days.
The picture is kind of bad because i took it in a hurry but basically its one 16ft led strip taped and glued (I live in vegas super hot) so I needed as much adhesion as possible. It goes all around the bed. I added the little red power switch and ran the power under the truck to the battery. I added a 5 amp fuse. Took me a few hours the first time I did it but if i were to do it again it would take me probably less than one hour. Total cost under $20.00
