First off, I did a search and could not find any info on this, so apologies in advance if someone has already inquired/posted.


Does anyone know if it is possible to add a Heated Steering wheel (MN winters are terrible!) to the 501a pack? (I want a 2.7L) I have seen the power tow mirrors added, a Lariat cluster on an XLT, etc, so Im guessing that it would be possible.


My guess would be buying the actual Heated Steering wheel, There might be a Body control module or other items required, and then reprogramming with as built data of a 502a with the same equip.


And yes, I know I could wait for the 16's but I could use the tax write off this year and the 2.7L 502a will be late availability, most likely pushing it out well beyond Dec 31st... And I don't want to pay Platinum prices...


I am sure there are others in the same boat that only want XLT/Lariat Specs, but would like to add the heated steering wheel also...

I would like info on this topic as well...IMO, they should package heated steering wheel along with seats/side mirrors in the typical "cold weather package".

I'm guessing this swap will be more trouble than it's worth though, changing out SRS is no picnic from what I've read.

My 502A has wheel heater switch on center console display there is no hard switch..

an actual switch.....yeah...mines not as fancy as this pic....guess I would have to see if the clock spring and rest of wiring would be there.....then rig my own switch/bat+...for it to power the heater circuit..

Damn that seems like a LOT of work. Kudos to you if you figure it out. It still pisses me off you can't get the 2.7 in the 502A but I digress.

strange. my climate control screen just has the heated wheel button the seat ones just have the physical buttons down low.

Looked at the factory wiring diagrams. You might as well spring for the 502A. I guess if you have loads of time and money you could do it.

You have the newer screwed up one,, only the early birds got the seat buttons on the screen.
