Default Active shutters.

Do the 2015's have the active shudders that the Atlas had? I asked a sales guy about it a month or so ago and he told me all the 2015's have them but I can't find them and no one is talking about it.

The EB's have them. I don't think the 5.0 or naturally aspirated 3.5 does though.

My 5.0 XLT Sport has them. I can't remember for sure but the level and trim package makes a difference on if the truck has them. I saw it in the F150 pamphlet.

What is the advantage of having these? How do they work?

Advantage in theory is the truck is more aerodynamic when they are closed, can help with engine warm up time also.

Reality, with how vertical the f150 front end is I find it hard to believe they do much at all for true mpg increase. And I can also tell you for sure they increase air intake temps on the ecoboost engine. my 2012 eco was within 2 degrees of actual air temp while driving, my 2015 I have yet to see it within 12 degrees of actual air temp and many times its 30+ degrees higher than the actual air temp so I don't see how breathing hotter air can help mpg.

Are the active grill shutters supposed to stay open when you are parked? Mine are always open. I assume that's normal.

mine are typically open when truck is off, but I have seen them closed on a few occasions not sure what made them do it though. Usually right after I shut the truck off I hear them open up.

Anyone have a picture of these things? This is the first I've heard of this.
