Well, it happened. I tagged a guys rear bumper as he cut to the left, infront of me. I thought I was going to t-bone him in rear quarter panle. No real damage to his little tahoe.
No air bags, no skid marks on road. No indications from computers that I had an accident.
I wonder if the anti-lock brakes and the collision avoidance widgets work? It happened so fast - I did not notice anything except the impact (at maybe 30+ MPH??). I wonder if the auto steering widget kicked in? I will put the analizer on it and see what it says.
Sorry for the accident. If the guy veered into your lane quickly, or the back end wasn't square to the radar in your bumper, collision avoidance assist may not have recognized the situation and/or had time to react. The radar beam a short distance in front of your bumper is very narrow.
I have had people cut right across my front at about 40mph. (twice). both times truck stopped, no damage, no contact. I don't even know if I touched the brakes either time. I am a long time auto tech and I am impessed.

I've had a similar experience. Mine has also kicked on a few times when I've been coming up behind someone making a right turn, when the radar sees a large stationary object in my lane, but I can see that car is moving out of my way in a perpendicular direction so I'm not slowing for it. So I know it works, and I know it's not a replacement for an attentive driver.
Hm, so you're not sure if the emergency braking had activated.
Is your truck optioned with adaptive cruise control?
2020 has emergency braking on all packages but it is camera based. I've wondered if it would be less effective than radar based. And if the truck has the adaptive cruise package, is it still camera based or does it switch to radar based in that case.
If the airbags did not go off I don't expect anything will be logged.

I don't think we know yet that this truck uses radar for collision avoidance. Most likely it is camera based since it became standard across trims on the MY2019.
