Default Access to the Sony Sub?

Got my 15 F-150 super crew last night, looking to polyfill the sub, can't figure out how to acess the sub enclosure behind the driver side rear seat... Even my salesman said the seat "doesn't fold down". I'm sure it does, just not easily. Anyone know how to fold the seat and/or otherwise acess the sub? Thanks in advance!

It's been stated here before, but if you pull the headrests out or forward and pull the back of the seat forward enough to see, I believe to the passenger side of the driver side headrest, you should see a black rod. Use a screwdriver or punch to push that down. Once down, you should be able to pull the seat back down

How did the install go? Please post pics if you took any. I am thinking of doing this if you think it made a difference in your sound.

Probably won't get to it today, exhaust is a higher priority, but hopefully by Monday. Will post pix!

Well, I did the poly fill, had found another thread that did explain quite well how to access the sub by lowering the rear seat back: tilt headrest forward, raise seat bottom, reach straight down behind headrest til the inside of the latching bracket, feel around for the post that kicks the seat up, slide that uatch up and the seat folds perfectly!

Speaker box screws in with 3 bolts, pretty easy to spot and access, harness simply clips together. Speaker itself has 8 screws on the face and one in the back. Then it comes out freely. I noted there was already a piece of fill in there between the speaker and the main portion of the box. Dunno if that's an add on from previous years our not. But I used 3/4 off a single bag of polyfill to pack the open space in, yet left reasonable room around the speaker to move. Went back in nicely (although the back side speaker screw was extremely tight)

Sound test: I honestly never tried actually listening for the sub prior, but was quite surprised when, after this mod, NOT only could I really not tell a difference, but I.couldn't hear anything coming from the sub at all! I had to put my hand in front to feel for air movement just to make sure it was functioning... Might try tweaking it a bit more in the coming days, but overall unimpressed.

Thanks for the great write up. Might not be worth doing this mod. Let me know if your thoughts change.

Interesting. I have a 2012 Lariat with the Sony 700w +factory sub setup. Love it.
Comparing to a CTSV, Challenger SRT8 H&K 10 speakers setup etc...
The F150 Sony blows them away in my opinion.
My 12 Screw is a company truck. I was just able to pickout a 15 Platinum.(been with company 22yrs)

Every forum I have been reading is posting neg reviews on the 2015 f150 Sony system.
I should have my truck in 2 weeks. I am reading these posts to see what upgrades are being done. (subs+spealers)
Also read the 2012 sounds better than the 2015.

The 2015 Sony system isn't bad. It's just a bit different in how it sounds. Compared to the 2013 Sony system there is less subsonic bass, but it's a more punchy bass with a smoother response. Now that I've spent more time with it I actually think it sounds better than my 2013 did.
