Default AC Plug Ins

On my 2016 f150 yesterday I plugged in my laptop into both the front and back seat plug ins. The computer did not show that it was charging. The front seat plug did not have the little orange light next to the plug lit up, the back seat plug did. The AC adapter for the computer is relatively low power at 1.5 amps input, nowhere near the 400W limit of the plug. Anybody else run into this?

you had the truck running when you plugged it in right? it won't work if the truck is off.

If memory serves, orange means overload... green should be a happy inverter. I had the same problem on my 2016 - they replaced the inverter.

I only have the front receptacle in the dash, since I have a SCab, but the light is always orange whether something is plugged in or not. I've plugged my older Dell laptop into it many times to charge and it's worked flawlessly.

You must not have the center console would be my guess. My SCab has a 110v plug on the back of the console.

The rear plug was orange with nothing plugged in. No light on the front plug.

might need to be reset isn't there a circuit breaker or other reset switch on the inverter circuit. I think it's in the manual.

otherwise I'd also check the interior fuse if it was blown.

Orange light front and back with the motor running. Phone charges from both.
