About to pull the trigger, thoughts?
So i passed up on a blue jean blue truck because i was shooting for ruby red. The ruby red i was looking at initially had a small tank ao i passed on that one.
I have been haggling with a local dealer on this truck
http://www.driveprime.com/inventory/...-F-150-Saco-ME
Initially, they only offered my 9500 on my 2010 fl50, i was offered 12,5 elsewhere and said that was what i wanted. They just emailed and agreed to the 12,5 trade in.
This truck is nice, big tank, console, nav etc. one strange - but not bad thing, they ripped out the cloth and put in heated leather seats. They said they do this with a few vehicles each year to give them the feel of a Lariat without the price. The leather looks and feels nice, kind of a waste as my dog will be enjoying it in the back mostly. They did not add anything to the price of the truck for the leather.
The price is pretty good, 39,322, i mean, not cheap, but a sticker of 51,035 not including the leather addition.
They said they would guarantee the leather and it was done locally.
Thoughts?
It has everything id wanted, except puddle lights! And it has a 3.31 rear end, not ideal for towing, but my bass boat is not that heavy. I dnt know if i could pull a 5th wheel rv? Its got the 5.0., bed liner, fx package.. etc...

Like scrappy said. Sticker shows 48,535. Here in Texas 10k off Msrp is the basic starting point on negotiations with an XLT. I wouldn't consider this a must have deal but I understand Texas seems to have better deals. I would guess they are doing 10k off Msrp and charging you around 1k for the leather.

I'd make sure I drove a 5.0L with 3.73 and 3.55 gears before buying one with 3.31s. Doesn't matter what kind of deal you get if you don't enjoy driving it...

Do it, I've thought about doing the leather seats to my truck. If everything else is right pull the trigger. I've never delt with that dealership I buy all of mine up in Yarmouth. But they are matching your trade and you're getting the truck you want. Pull that trigger.

That price seems a little high to me. By the time you hit the $40k mark you should be in crew cab territory. I wouldn't pay more than $37k but that's just me. The 3.31 gears are fine for fishing boats but I'd probably want the 3.55, if not 3.73 for something with as much resistance as an RV/fifth wheel.

that truck advertises both 3.31 and 3.73...
"Engine: 5.0L V8 Ffv ($1,795) - 3.31 Axle Ratio, Gvwr: 7,050 Lbs Payload Package"
"3.73 Axle Ratio"
40k for a supercab seems high to me but if it checks all the boxes for you then go for it. I got into a new 2016 SCREW FX4 in May for about 4k less.
