I just picked up a '99 F150 4X4 from a police auction. Upside it was only $550, down side no keys.
Does it require a "smart key" or is it a regular cut key blank? Cheaper to replace ignition, or have a locksmith make a key????? Thanks

 

Depends on the trim. Most likely a normal key. Ford can sell you a lock set that comes with new door cylinders and an ignition cylinder for likely cheaper than a locksmith.
