Default 7Pin to 12V adapter does not work

So I purchased this http://www.reeseprod.com/products/el...zqgGzN4ceuTAc= 7 pin adapter that has two 12V cigarette lighter style power connections. I have a powered cooler that I want to connect to this when I have the cooler in my bed (for tailgating, travel, etc). Unfortunately the 2015 and newer F150s do not "power up" this 7 pin connection in the back unless a trailer is detected so I am not getting any power. Other than running a dedicated circuit and adding a 12V adapter in the bed does anyone have a solution to this problem with no power to the 7 Pin?
