Default 5.0 question

For you guys that have tunes, I'm not looking for more power, just driveability. It may be me, but it seems like the 5.0 doesn't make much power below 3k. But once you reach that point, it feels like it comes on strong. Just wanting to know if tunes get rid of seems like that sluggish feeling down low & gives better throttle response?

Yes, the Omega tune is a great improvement at low rpm which makes the truck even more drivable. His transmission tuning is legit. I think it should be modification #1 for Coyote owners.

just to be clear, it doesn't make the 5.0 into a stump pulling motor, but without a doubt it's improved.

yes tuners help with drivability. the eco is also neutered at lower rpms and tuners help both in "driveability". it's more like a sport mode button where computer sensitivities are changed in throttle response and transmission gear selection v more power. if that's what you seek, a tuner will likely be a good mod. and you will still get 25+/- more rwhp

I have 3.55 gears. That may have a lot to do with the feel of it also since I've never owned a truck that had less than 3.73 gears. My Tundra I had came with 4.30 gears stock.

I recently went from 5star to Omega for my 2013. Noticeable improvement for sure. So coming from stock you will really like it.

I would like to try a tune like that. I notice the whole engine note changes at around 3k and it definitely gets a kick of extra power. It is very noticeable to me with the Flowmaster exhaust. I have attributed it to the VVT. Had a Honda years ago with the VTEC that was a very similar sensation.
