5.0 and flex fuel
Looking @ the Ford website, 2017 MY, only ( 1 ) 5.0 engine is listed, is states FFV.
When I ordered my truck, there was no discussion if I wanted FFV or not, but that's what showed up.
Also, E-85 is not available anywhere near me.

That is one thing nice about living in the corn belt. E-85 and many blends of E-15,30,50,60 are sometimes available as well. Just depends on the station. I have not ran E-85 in the new truck, but in my previous truck(2011 5.0)....I ran it quite a bit. It runs really well on E-85. But-terrible fuel mileage. So it just depends what the price spread is. It's usually only about 15-20% cheaper, so the mileage hit is bigger than that sometimes.
I did some research and found one place only, about 10 miles away that sells E85. The price is $3.29, that’s about 50 cents more than regular gas, so if it results in less mpg it would be ridiculous to use it.
According to my manual:
Flex fuel vehicles have one of the following
identifiers:
• Yellow fuel filler cap.
• Yellow bezel around the fuel filler inlet.
• Yellow fuel filler housing.
• Yellow E85 label on the fuel tank filler
door.
All I have is the yellow bezel with E85 printed on the edge. No badge, etc, although my window sticker does show "flex fuel vehicle".
There ARE warnings to not use E85 exclusively or to alternate between regular and E85 so I am not likely to use it at all. Doesn't sound like the best thing for my truck. Maybe with the 2018s Ford decided to stop recommending it.
From my manual:
Switching Between E85 and Gasoline
We do not recommend repeatedly alternating between E85 and gasoline.
If you switch from using E85 to gasoline, or from gasoline to E85, add as much fuel
as possible, at least half a tank. Drive your vehicle immediately for a minimum of 5 mi
(8 km) to allow it to adapt to the change in ethanol concentration. If you use E85
exclusively, we recommend that you fill the fuel tank with regular unleaded
gasoline at each scheduled oil change.

- Fuel suppliers must ensure that they have a minimum renewable fuel content of five percent (5%) for gasoline and four percent (4%) for diesel, on a provincial annual average basis
- Fuel suppliers have the flexibility to vary their blend percentages and can choose where in the province they supply renewable fuel blends, as long as they meet the provincial annual average requirement for renewable fuel content
But, I think there must be areas of the province that suppliers have higher concentrations in order to meet 5% by volume.
