I'm in the Chicago area, and don't regret buying 2wd. Never got stuck in 4 winters.

Personally I'd never own a pickup without 4x4. If it is a cost thing, then I can understand it, but 4x4 as an option isn't that expensive.

I had a F250 FX4 before but never had a 1/2 4x4. Never needed it. The F250 was used for work on the pipeline, still only used 4x4 4 times in a year.
But to me its only a $4k deal and when going riding on my SXS where we go is a bit rough and would not hurt to have it. Also good for getting to the ranch hunting.

Just never know when you will need it. I got it because this will be my only truck for the next 5 to 6 years and dont want to say "should have gotten a 4x4" later down the line.

We get some snow here. That said, New Mexico drivers SUCK and you're better off staying home or driving the FWD minivan on snow days. It's rare that the roads stay snow packed for more than 24 hours.

I'd guess 80%+ of the dealer inventory in Albuquerque and Santa Fe are 4x4.

You don't think $4000 dollars is a lot of money?
