Default 4x4 issues

Hey guys tonight I was drivingly my 16 Screw 3.5 and the roads were getting icy and I put it into 4HI. After a while I went back into 2Hi and I noticed a message in the cluster that said something to the effect of "There is a issue with your 4x4 system" and then it threw on the wrench icon. Everything seemed normal on the drive home. After I turned the truck off I turned it back on and the wrench was gone. Anyone have any ideas or have this happen to them??

I haven't had similar issues, but definitely get it to the dealer, I'm sure it stored a code they can pull up.

If you have a Autozone close by they will read codes for free.

I have a scanner and I just ran it and it's telling me there are no codes stored in the ECU. Weird.

If no codes are stored it's probably not worth going to the dealer.
Try 4x4 again a few times and see if you continue to have a problem.

Probably threw a temporary code, triggering the message. As stated above, try it a few times, if you can't replicate I'd just keep an eye on it.
