This along with the aluminum body are the two major reasons I switched from a Silverado to the F150 when Mr. Deer jumped in front of my 2003 Silverado in Dec. BKVic
care to share your dealer?

A third party warranty, Automobile Protection Corporation, a company based in Norcross, GA. Here is a link to the requirements:

Notice the one about a powertrain inspection is required every 30,000 miles. It is their way of hitting you up for expensive repairs, may or may not be required, to maintain the warranty intact or just to exclude you if you miss the inspection.

Also, it is being offered by a number of dealers and brands across the country. Service can be performed at any ASE certified mechanic, but the proof is on you for independent shops. The company deleted all references to its warranty online and changed it to say see dealer for details. In other words, they do not want you to read it in advance. However, it states that factory recommended maintenance schedule applies except the additional inspection. MY GM truck had similar language, but lowered the oil change interval to a step below the factory interval and required all outside work to be preauthorized.

After reading all your posts and re-reading this dealership "lifetime warranty" policy over again, it does seem kind of flim-flamy. There is an option to initial a box "owner declines lifetime coverage" there was no added fee for it, why initial it?
It seems like the point of this policy is to have you thinking that ALL service must be done at dealership in order for any warranty to be valid.

The lifetime powertrain warranty for my truck requires no powertrain inspection every 30,000 miles. Here is a link to the dealer website where they talk about it.

It could be all fish oil ect but it didn't cost me a cent and they put it on every car brand they sell except Kia. I guess Ill have to wait until something happens outside the factory warranty to see exactly what it's worth.

The dealer link is not what you should be looking at for the warranty details. On the back of the warranty paperwork, you have a legal description of the warranty terms and limitations in 6 pt. font which you may be lucky enough to see without a magnifying glass. Read through it and see what is says for coverage terms.

You know if you are planning on doing all your service with the dealership then there is no additional cost to you.

If you were planning on doing your own, you will save money there, but have to pay a $400.00 deductible per issue. Assuming you have any issues.
