Ok, come on, the go-to damper for the F150, and you don't say why you hate them? Can you elaborate on this please?

best way to know if a F150 has the locker (without looking inside)is to see that FX4 decal on the side, all FX4s have it

Max Tows also get it but there isn't a fancy sticker on the truck to indicate that option.

Or you could check the VIN sticker for the axle code.

Also lean over and look underneath, the lock coil/motor connector is on the driver side of the pumpkin just above the axle tube.

I have it and the only time I use it is when I use the truck to roll smooth the jump faces on my motocross track. I not sure it is even necessary for that, but it's nice to know there won't be a rear wheel spinning and tearing up the dirt. I don't need it at the sandy/gravel boat launch and have never needed it the snow.

I prefer the e-locker over a factory limited slip because it is fully locked. You decide when/if it's potentially needed and activate it ahead of time. There are many times at my property where I use the e-locker to keep from spinning the rear wheels when 4X4 is not needed. It is probably not necessary for the vast majority of people who never use 4X4 for anything more treacherous than snow.

But but but you can put it in 4H and drive around full time in it on any surface just because. A salesman at the local dealership told me so. Seriously.

I’m another owner that has e locker and uses it more than 4x4. Wet grass, pulling stumps, the famous sleet, snow freezing rain I experience most of the winter whatever. Push a button and off I go. My old truck had a limited slip, probably more effective at normal road speeds but not as effective at slow, “now I’m stuck” speeds. I like it
