Default The $395 Ruby Red Paint Option

I fairly recently traded my white and low option 13 XLT SCrew for a 17 XLT SCrew that better serves my current needs. I had always admired the ruby red F150s and decided this go around that’s the color I had to have. And I did. 3k miles in and I’m really enjoying it. I’m figuring out that if you can’t make an evening out of sitting on the porch drinking a beer and just enjoy looking at your ride, you’re probably not in the right vehicle.

My question is why is that color (for 17 XLT anyway...according to Ford build website) the only one with an additional charge? Aside from just being so sexy, what makes ruby red so different to command the $395 upcharge?

Its a multi stage paint process. More time more money.

White Platinum is also a premium at $595

it's a tinted clearcoat. white platinum was an extra charge on my lariat because it's a tri stage pearl.

Wait until you clay and wax it and see how the color shines.

It is a beautiful color! Getting ready to get rid of my 2011 red candy for a Ruby red, or possibly a white gold.

Even though there's already a Ruby Red thread, you really can't see them enough. Soo...
