Default 360 surround camera functions not working

Hi all. 2017 Lariat, 33k miles, w 502A tech pkg; bought my truck used a couple months ago, and haven’t been able to get any of my surround cameras to come on with the exception of the rear camera, which comes on when I put it in reverse. My window sticker confirms that the truck has 360 surround camera option, and I’ve verified that it has the mirror and front cams. I’ve been through the manual and all of the settings/options on the cluster and the 8” display, but haven’t found anything that is helpful. Ditto here on the forum.

Scheduled to take it in to the dealer on Wednesday, but before I have to take it in and drop it off for a half a day, wondering if any of you have dealt with this and can save me a trip. Thanks in advance.

The camera button above the radio doesn't do anything at all?

It does nothing whatsoever. When the back up cam comes up, I can see all of the surround sensors around the perimeter of the truck avatar, but they’re greyed out except for the reverse sensors.

The 360 camera system isn't as robust as one might think.... but the button does have limited functions when in use.

HTH,

Yup... your Cam System is messed up... you have to take it to the Dealer and have them perform the Camera Alignment ... which is a computer process that makes the system see/use/align the 4 cameras.

Update: dropped it off at the dealer, and a half hour later get a call from the CS rep asking if the truck had a mirror replaced recently.

A: yes, the drivers side due to a minor fender bender, but the camera issue was there before that, and the mirror is Ford OEM

Apparently the camera sensor module in the mirror and the rain sensor in the windshield were throwing hard codes and needed to be re-programmed before they could address the initial camera issue. Only problem is, not covered under the warranty, and supposedly 8-12 hours of labor involved. Luckily the reprogram is something that the collision repair center should have done and billed the other guy’s insurance for, so a quick call to them got authorization for the dealership to reprogram. Got my truck back the next day, with the 360 system working for the first time since I bought it back in April

Also learned that my power folding telescoping tow mirrors with all the bells and whistles are apparently not the mirrors that the truck rolled off the assembly line with- according to the VIN, it’s supposed to have the smaller power folds. So somewhere along the line, the original owner added $3800+ worth of mirror upgrade (including labor). Which explains why I kept getting the wrong mirror caps sent to me when trying to order replacements for the ugly chrome caps.

all in all a good day. And the front cam and birds eye view are freakin awesome, especially since I’ve already mastered the art of parking my 157” WB truck without them.

I am certainly glad I didn't have any issues like that when I swapped tow mirrors for the regular mirrors.

Update after a weekend taking the truck out camping:

Front driver’s side door suddenly started locking automatically every single time after vehicle is turned off and door shut. Using keypad to unlock works about half the time. The other half, the door partially unlocks, and can’t be opened until you go around to the passenger side and hit the unlock button (if the fob is inside the truck in the console, which it was, because camping). Major frustration. Usually by the time I got background to driver’s side after unlocking, it had locked itself again. Went into my cluster settings and turned autolock off just in case. Didn’t help.

when we got back from our trip, took the truck through the touchless car wash because it was super dusty. About halfway through, I swear i can feel water dripping on my foot, which is on the floor between the gas and brake pedals. Sure enough, there is water dripping down onto brake and gas pedal. WTF

i can’t imagine that it’s a coincidence that both of these issues are presenting after dealer worked on DS mirror camera sensor and rain sensor in windshield.
