"Engine On Due To Charging" does not set a CEL.
Search for "battery monitor bluetooth" at Amazon or the global internet. For $25-$40 you can get a bluetooth battery monitor/logger which stores voltage every 3 minutes the past 30 days, and more often when the engine is starting. I suspect there is only 1 Chinese design but all seem to use different smartphone apps. Can see voltage at any time with your smartphone. Can see what it has been doing when driving, and when parked. You'll see spikes when the doors are opened. You'll see a spike when an EPA gas tank pressure test is performed 5 hours after parking.
