Default 3.5EB failure point

With Wipple showing 650+ rwhp on their new 2018 f-150 blower set up it has me thinking about ordering a new truck to turn into a seriously fun DD. The Coyote engine seems to be pretty durable by most accounts.

At what HP level does the ecoboost starting having longevity issues?

Is this a serious question or did Thanksgiving already get to you?

BOTH engines are fine. It's more of "user error" that destroy things.

i dont think its as clear w the eb as it is w the stang engine. the stang engine has more aftermarket support and has been modded more than the eb.

The 5.0 is going to be more reliable if you want to drop the coin to drop a supercharger on it. Whipple is getting 406/440 (up from 322/336) out of the 3.5EB at the crank with their stage 1 kit and claiming factory levels of safety... they're probably the biggest company that's tuning the EB right now.

However ANY tune will void the Ford warranty.

If you’re bolting a supercharger onto the coyote or tuning the EB for high output, I don’t think you give a **** about the warranty.

thank you for pointing out what should have been obvious. Not sure why warranty BS needs to be in this thread.
