How many miles are on your F150? Just hit 55 thousand. , I bought this pickup used at 24 thousand miles.
What configuration did you purchase? (year, cab, box, 2wd/4wd, trim, gears, etc.) 2016 supercrew 5.5box 4wd XLT 300A package 3.73 gears sirius radio
Any engine/mechanical related issues? Damn drivers side door won't latch right when cold outside, recalls on this thru eternity though
Have you made modifications? (leveling kit, programmer, etc.) Only mods are rear bed mat, Undercover SE hard Tonneau, towing hitch, added aftermarket backup camera and garmin gps
What do you use your truck for? everyday use, hauling and towing
Do you tow with your pickup? Yes, 16ft boat, motor, trailer
What fuel mileage do you average? Around town everyday driving is 20.9 mpg (computer), on the road at 65 is around 25 (computer), towing is about 17.5 mpg
Any complaints regarding your truck? (be honest) I wish I had the rear electronic locker.

Things I like about my pickup
The transmission is great, 6R80, use the sport mode for towing, works great for really moving out too.
Super crew is great, never get another pickup without it.
Backup camera is a must have.
Not sure I need 4WD, I have only used it twice, maybe next time just the elec rear locker.
Happy I got the front fold up console with the shifter on the steering column, more versatile.
Like being able to plug in my USB thumb drive with my music a lot.
Like the fuel mileage.
Glad I do not have start / stop on mine.
Happy with the 17 inch wheels, plenty big for me.
I like that when I do need maintenance, cost on mine may be cheaper than ecoboosts because it is easier to work on, I hope.

Default 200K miles, the water pump, and oil life

I'm at 44K miles and like it just fine. I wish the electronics were a little more advanced ... and I find that the seat belt "reminder" is an iffy alarm (sometimes works and sometimes doesn't).

I don't like that the 3.5 non-ECO is so poorly shown on the web ... was a bitch trying to find somewhere that showed where the oil filter was. But I am glad I didn't get the Eco as the turbos have GOT to shorten the life.

And took those under frame pans off so I can get to the oil plug and filter easily ... you'll take em off eventually, so I did it NOW.

The specs say engine life is 200K miles (kept my 30 year old 4.9L 6-cyl to 300K miles), and my research says this is because that's when the INTERNAL water pump fails and starts dumping coolant into your oil pan. If you catch it early enough, you can probably save your engine, but the cost is high. I don't drive this as a daily vehicle, so should last rest of my life (I'm 67).

Also DETEST the engine oil life electronics ... I change my oil at about 5K miles ... and I should NOT have to track that ... but even at 5K miles, oil is black as tar. If I don't track it, it won't alert until 10K miles ... that should be setable.

.
I understood - correct me if I'm wrong, known to happen - that the INTERNAL water pump was only on transverse-mounted 3.5s.

Correct. I did some search and those internal pumps are on the Explorers as I remember.

My 2016 with the 3.5 na that I traded in had the external water pump. With care and maintenance, I feel like that engine and the 3.3 will outlast nearly everything else on the truck

My 2017 XLT SCAB with the 3.5l v6 ti-vct has 51k. gets approx. 20.2 mpg. I love it. I have the Pedal Commander set up on it and it can be very helpful at times.

Has anyone hooked a tuner up to theirs? Thoughts? Opinions?

How many miles are on your F150? Bought used with 30k June '19, now (Oct '20) I'm at 58k.
What configuration did you purchase? (year, cab, box, 2wd/4wd, trim, gears, etc.) 2018 Screw, 5.5' box, 3.3L V6, 6R80 transmission, 4x4, XLT, 3.73 gears.
Any engine/mechanical related issues? None
Have you made modifications? (leveling kit, programmer, etc.) I removed the underbody covers because they were sagging and for easier access to the drainplug and oil filter. Replaced the OEM oil drain plug with a Fumoto valve for easier oil changes. Recently replaced the OEM Goodyears with 4 new 265/70R17 Cooper AT3 4s tires. Added a horse stall mat in the bed, running boards, mud flaps.
What do you use your truck for? Daily commuting, hauling
Do you tow with your pickup? No.
What fuel mileage do you average? 20mpg lifetime (calculated per the Fuelly app.)
Any complaints regarding your truck? (be honest) Oil filter location is the worst. I don't mind the auto on/off but have found it to cause some hairy situations when making a left turn in traffic so I just hit the button to turn this feature off when I'm in this situation. Overall, this truck is great for what I use it for. It has plenty of power, gets good mileage for a pickup, it's comfortable for my daily 50+ mile daily commutes, and I can fit my whole family and 3 dogs in the cab when needed unlike my old Tacoma.

Anyone got info or a video link to the 2017 f250 3.5 non-EB base engine spark plug change? My 2011 F150 EB spark plug change is easy but this looks like it’s gonna require lots of work to get to the plugs!
