2nd gen 3.5 ecoboost, long crank on cold start??

Mine starts very quickly cold or hot, but the coldest I've started it is about 45ºF. One way to hopefully make it start quicker is to turn ignition on first, to allow fuel pump to prime and all the checks to take place, then press the brake pedal and hit the start button again. I don't have to do that on mine, however. Now a friend is telling me there's a recall for the transmission. Geez. But can' find any threads here. Hopefully just for Raptors.

I think EFI vehicles are programmed with a delay to build oil pressure. Wish someone in the auto industry could confirm.
I had a carbureted Samurai and you barely had to tap the key and it was running. Same with estart 2 stroke dirt bikes and jet skis, they fire right up. I think it's programmed and not an issue.
Could also be a leaky injector or fuel pump letting the pressure out after sitting, if extremely long cranks.

Mine will take a bit longer when it's cold too, i'm not worried about it at all.
Also holding down the gas pedal does absolutely nothing on a modern EFI engine. Throttle plate will stay closed till it's started.

Normal, my 18 3.5 makes a few more rotations before firing when the truck has sat overnight.

Mine took a couple more turns to start when it was sub-zero here a couple of weeks ago. But it wasn't excessively long and I didn't see it as abnormal.

This might sound dumb, but have you made sure your battery is working properly. If the battery is just a little weak in very low temps it may not have enough cold cranking amps, to turn the engine over quick enough. Just a thought. I live in Texas and the heat hear will kill a battery quicker than the cold, but I have seen this happen.

the battery is cranking the crap out of the truck, its emphatically not a weak battery. Also these batteries are a larger AGM battery because of the stop start feature. They are a much more substantial battery than was put in trucks without this feature. I am getting full cranking speed. I don't feel its temperature related as I have started the truck up close to zero before. I will just say this on cold start it takes longer to start up than any fuel injected vehicle I have owned, EVER sometimes I notice it more than others
