Exclamation 2022 lightning

Seems like all electric is going to be a not so good time for those with regular 15 amp 120v coverage in their garages. On regular battery it will take 3-4 days of continual charging to get a full charge. Not cheap to have the garage re outfitted to 220. That's 3-4 days with the basic battery not the extended range.

Which EV charges quickly on a 120V 15A circuit? Who is paying 70K+ for a Lightning but is balking at paying 1K for a proper 240V charging circuit?

$20,000 extra for the extended range battery that adds an additional 70 miles of range. 230 vs 300. Seems excessive.

More than a $1000 if you have a developed basement and a separated garage. Tear out roof to redo electrical and trench yard to garage is not going to be cheap.

One time expenses that you'll recover when you sell the property. This concept is not going away.
My grandfather had no use for those model T's either. You have to put gas and oil in them damn things. He stuck with horses and cows. Never left his zip code.

If you have even basic electrical skills, you can run the 240v line you need to your garage if you have attic access? Simple to tap into your existing breaker box and you likely have an open spot for a new breaker, even if you don't you could tap into existing 240v several different ways. HOWEVER, this only gives you a 13 mile per charging hour range...so do the math, 10 hours of charging to get 130 miles of range. yeah...these electric vehicles are ready for prime time...not.

Oh no...you have to get the dedicated Ford Charge Station Pro for the quickest charging (and is happily bi-directional so you can hook your truck to it if your house power fails). Next option is the Ford Connected Charge Station, which is a "19 mile per charging hour" system.

Most people will not need a full charge every day. People will likely be topping up their batteries each night, etc.

people need to keep in mind that the electric cars of today will be a complete joke in 10 years as the technology will advance so quickly.

Just a waste of time now. It will be a huge waste of money as this generation will quickly be worth nothing on resale.
