I recently just did a Borla Pro-XS muffler swap on my truck due to some fitment issues with a swaybar on the stock muffler. I wasnt expecting much and was really a stop gap between getting the AWE Exhasut that just came out. I am pleasantly surprised by the sound. I left the resonator in because I did not want it to be too burbly and it sounds great for $250. I would recommend a muffler swap before anything else, just listen to your local exhaust guy.

Did you cut the Corsa system or the factory exhaust?

I think I'll try it with the resonator first and take it out if needed.

I came really close to doing this but prefer the look and sound of the catbacks.

I cut the Corsa system. Be warned, I had installed a 3” resonator delete, and the corsa by default has a neck down area in front of the muffler to mate to the factory 2.5” resonator outlet. This is the area I cut off, as the pipe behind it is 3” and mated directly to my 3” resonator delete.
If you plan on keeping the factory resonator you’ll need to cut elsewhere in the system.

SPD makes a res delete, and they also sell the same 3” pipe with a resonator installed. I’d start without one and add one back in if it’s too loud.

Late model F150 exhaust systems are very simple, easy to work on, replace or modify. Single outlet from down-pipes straight back (my 2.7 but others I have looked at) to a resonator thru to the muffler inlet.
When I shopped for my RCSB exhaust I looked at a pile of them from a plie of manufacturers, all were the same simple basic design. Ib may not buy much from American Trucks they do have a LOT of Youtube videos on exhaust systems that include installation. Every one I watched mentions cutting the pipe to the muffler inlet to dimension based on wheelbase/cab/bed length. Single simple cut I did at home with a saber-saw (I installed a Pypes 4 inch catback). On my install I also did some trimming on over axle pipes for the fit I wanted, but it did fit out of the box with a single cut.
While I have gone with custom shop built systems in the past, a good look at the F150 system and I felt it would be simple and it was. If there is a problem it's the vast number of options available in catback system kits. Where did I want the exhaust exit? Style of tip(s)? Color? Material? Pipe diameter? Muffler type? Resonator or not? Did my pick sound good to me?
Lot's of decisions to match what you like, but a simple install (mine for sure!).

I personally went simple system in the largest available diameter SS tubes, no resonator, big honking straight thru muffler, back of axle side outlet, straight plain tip exiting just past body line. I trusted the turbos to add a lot of low throttle sound suppression and I like the result ( I have owned a few turbocharged cars since my first 1966 Corvair Spider turbo). KM

Thanks for the tips, I'll take a closer look when it comes in.

I like the look of the MBRP side exhaust but don't really love the sound and hate drone. I love Corsa and Borla but they don't list regular cab kits.

Any advice would be appreciated.
why not just buy the exhaust you like and order the truck to fit?

I had a muffler shop remove the resonator, and put in a Magnaflow, & exit out the side. Nice, low rumble at idle, not obnoxiously loud, and no drone at all.

I did the same. Nice mellow sound now.
