It came out great!

I finally threw on the 5" tips today. IMO it looks a LOT better.

I agree Mike. It looks a lot better. Glad you were able to get it done, and thank you so much for all the help you provided.... including giving everyone the instructions for the 4A. That might be my next mod 😉

Default Alignment help!

First, thank you all for your input on this thread. I’ve probably read it all 3 times now. I just had my local body shop paint and install the new bumpers. Is it me or is there an alignment issue? My caps look like they are slanting away from each other, and it looks like I have a larger gap from the bumper plastic to the tailgate than others. From the way it looks, they are bolted on through just holes not slots. So, it doesn’t look like they can be adjusted. Am I missing something here?

Looks To me like you're missing the two brackets on each end of the bumper

Yep missing the end brackets. Here a screen capture from my install video.

There’s a lot more adjustment than you’d think. Loosen the bolts and start adjusting it straight.

I agree with the advise you're getting. Loosen up the bolts on the bumper ends. Put a level top and then adjust until it's level, then tighten the bolts.

Look at his second picture (it's sideways), he's obviously missing the end brackets. He might be able to get it level but it's going to be way weaker than it should be.

As soon as I posted, I lost all patience and disassembled everything. There is not a lot of play, but the bolt holes are over sized enough to get about a 1/4" either way. It was enough to level it out. Thanks for the help. It looks to me like the brackets are only for structural support. Do they aid in hanging the exhaust at all? Pretty sure I'm going to do a Borla S-type after this pandemic is over.

That's correct. The brackets are there to strengthen the bumper in case of an accident and to prevent any flexing while hitting big bumps, but not having them wouldn't prevent you from getting the left and right bumper level.
