FORD PASS is an app. Ford CONNECT is the hotspot.

You can have FORD PASS connect thru bluetooth thru your smartphone and it will do the same thing. Your smartphone would provide the data link in this scenario.

I am to assume that FORD PASS and FORD CONNECT work together. Ford Pass would connect to the wifi hotspot in the truck, instead of bluetooth on a smartphone.

Can you connect your SMARTPHONE directly to the WIFI hotspot and get internet???????

I've got the same issue on my 2018. WiFi hotspot in the truck worked awesome until the 6th when it quit transmitting data. And my FordPass lost the ability update at this point as well. Which also means I can no longer remote start and lock/unlock with my phone. I tried every restart sequence I could think of including disconnecting the battery but no luck. I'm dreading having to take it to the dealership to get this fixed so I'm hoping Ford is already on top of this one! (good dealership just my time I don't want to invest!)

Thanks everyone. Yes, I can connect to the wifi hotspot but receive no internet. It sounds like its a service issue related to Ford Pass and/or AT&T rather than a faulty modem in the vehicle. As previous people have stated, the 6th is the last time mine has updated as well.

Exclamation

Most likely an AT&T issue, and perhaps something involving provisioning.

AT&T runs the wifi hotspot in GM vehicles as well. I all the sudden stopped getting my vehicle health reports, although I can use my hotspot. they simply can't figure this one out. AT&T blames, Onstar blames. they both blame GM.

Just went out to check the WiFi hotspot using my daughters iPad which connected and worked on Saturday morning.....it still connects to the hotspot but it no longer can receive or transmit data. My last vehicle update as I mentioned earlier in the thread was 7:23 pm PDT on Friday the 6th.

I am in Canada and my Ford pass hasn't updated either. I try to refresh it and nothing happens. I have a s 2018 F150. The app was working fine until few days ago. It hasn't updated the fuel level, it doesn't start or lock/unlock.

We have no AT&T up here. Ford is probably using Rogers. But I'm hoping for a fix soon. Hard to show off my app when it doesn't work.

Plus I use the app a lot, to lock/unlock and star since the key is never on me and I'm pretty far from the truck where the key's range wouldn't be enough anyways.

Believe in Canada we are still technically using at&t service but using the rogers towers. So the service is still control by at&t.

Same here in Mississippi. Worked on Friday and loved WiFi for two weeks before that. Took a trip two weeks ago and WiFi only devices worked great, love the new feature. Then Friday it went out. Ford pass chat ppl said engineers working on it today and fixed but it’s not working tonight.

Like everyone else I put about 4 or 5 hours into this Saturday! Resetting and on phone.

Almost glad it’s been brought up and not just my new 18 truck. Saturday morning when the problem was still new to everyone I called ford att and they tried to send new refresh signals to truck and everything; they said thing looked normal on atts end and I might wanna get my modem checked out at dealer, glad to learn through this post it’s not a modem thing/ part replacement (I hope) In a brand new truck. I’m pretty sure it’s a server type problem cause it happened to everyone on the same day.

Thanks for creating post, I’ll be checking In to wait for first success replies

i just feel bad for the ford salesman across America trying to sell one of these 18s with advertised WiFi or ford pass the last 3 days and it not working, it may would have caused me to back out of a truck if I didn’t already know feature does work properly for sure. But I know and have used it until this weekends problem and saves a lot of data on my current plan, and att WiFi will pick up in some places my MS cell company will not

I’m glad this was posted because I have been trying to figure out what’s going on. I coincidentally loaded Sync 3.0 and thought that was my issue. When I contacted Ford through chat they said it my truck wasn’t equipped with a Sync Connect modem and that was required. Duh !!

For Canadians: AT&T is the Service Activation, but they Roam through Canada, mine works, Ontario here.

Anyone can add the F150s, but if you notice those with the 2018s now have that small icon, we have the ability to lock/unlock start and stop the trucks from our smartphone plus we get vehicle reports, it also has a Wifi tab under "Vehicle" just swipe and youll see TPI and Fuel
