2018 Wifi Hotspot Issues / Ford Pass
#141
At the advice of my dealer, I deleted my truck from my Ford Pass account, and then added it back. The notice on my truck did come up for me to allow access, but now in the app it's shown "Activation Pending" for the past two weeks. Anyone else experience this?

We'll see what ford does in mid November

Same here. Still says pending. I too also got an iPhone app update, but haven’t tried anything yet. I’m thinking of calling Ford Pass for an update as the only news I’ve received is from this forum. Still sounds like another couple of weeks.

Noticed FordPass app did an update. In vehicle now to see if there's been a change in WiFi hotspot. No change. Wifi still says connected no internet. But a FordPass icon in the app section in vehicle. App did update my current gas tank amount. Still have a pending activation status so I can't try any remote functions. Slow and steady progress.

Technically this could be done with FORScan if you have it... instead of having the dealer use IDS on the as-built data change. Basically changing as-built data and changing it back to what it was before with a Sync 3 master reset REQUIRED in there from the settings menu, as well.
Issue: Some 2018 F-150 vehicles built on or before 21-Sep-2017 and equipped with 4G telematics control unit (TCU) may exhibit FordPass remote start/lock/unlock, vehicle health alerts, vehicle status, vehicle locator, fleet and Wi-Fi® hotspot inoperative.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
Warranty Status: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.

Is this a service bulletin that just came out today and the fix that the FordPass rep mentioned? If so, would all dealers now be aware of this? I would like to bring my truck in and have this done since I’m a new Ford owner and don’t have Forscan (or trust myself not to screw something up!).
