Default 2018 tail light replacement

I broke the driver side rear tail light lens on my 2018 XLT (no BLIS or 360 camera), and I'm having trouble figuring out which part to buy. I understand I can't just replace the lens so I have to replace the entire assembly. I pulled out the existing assembly and found part number JL34-13B505-AH (see photo).

When I search online for this part I can't find it anywhere. I do however see a part that looks just like it with part number JL3Z-13405-H on tascaparts.com that says it fits my truck. Do any of you know if these are the same parts? If so, why do they have different part numbers?

OP, JL34-13B505-AH is what is known as an Engineering Number. It is used by the Purchasing, Inventory Control and the assembly line for building the vehicle. Replacement Service Parts may have the Engineering Number stamped, printed or labelled on the part, but the Service Part you can buy at the parts counter will have a "Z" for the fourth character, which designates it as a Service Part. JL3Z-13405-H may in fact be the correct Part Number you are looking for. Only a Ford parts person in front of a computer terminal, using your VIN, will know for sure.

Obviously an Ebay seller selling the part by the same Engineering Number will fit.

Right about now I bet you're glad you don't have the LED BLIS tail light, they're a little pricey.

Yes, I went to a dealer and verified that JL34-13B505-AH and JL3Z-13405-H are the same part. One is the engineering part number and the other is the service part number as described in one of the replies above. Definitely buy the part online instead of a dealer. The dealer wanted more than $100 more for the same part than what I found online.

I know this thread is old but same model/#. I'm going to replace light, however, bottom blinker failed. inspection shows the bottom blinker housing was full of water. No "visible" cracks but the upper inner corner is chipped. Looks like perfect shark teeth. Wonder if the tailgate did this or the ice. In a different matter my 04 tarsus wagon windshield cracked right down the middle, and I swear it was on the days it was below zero. .
