Dang that sucks! Sorry to hear that man. Slightly off topic but goes to speak of the quality of assembly line. I had a rattle in my door panel. I was going to add keypad entry anyway so I removed the door panel when the part arrived. As soon as I removed the door panel I find a 10mil nut floating around in the top of the door panel. It took me a minute to figure out that it was the same nut that secures the mirror. It was tucked in a bracket near the top of the door just below the mirror. The person assembling the truck must have dropped the nut and instead of looking for it just grabbed another and left the "extra" one in the door. I get that crap happens but reading these forums makes me realize that there is more and more of it going on. In the name of speed and profit, quality and accuracy get lost. This is not exclusive to Ford but damn guys......get it together. It may be that the internet has given a louder voice to problems but you would think that manufacturers would realize that and re-emphasize quality. It only takes one video of a lousy FedEx guy chucking a TV over a fence to give the rest of the company a bad name.
Man that’s nuts. Hehe. That rattle probably was really irritating.Yea I understand parts fail and hell, we all make mistakes on our jobs. It just stinks they have to happen but they do. Between my wife and I we have bought our last six vehicles brand new from Ford. This is the first issue we have had besides a few recall issues on a Fusion. I’m still a Ford guy but what a bummer. Thanks fir all the replies.

I ordered a brand new 1968 Ford Fairlane 500, when it came it had an intermittent rattle.I finally narrowed it down to the dash area, laying on my back with my feet over the seat ( I could do that back then) I felt around under the dash and found a church key (beer can/ bottle opener).

I posted on a previous thread that mine died at (I think it was) 158 miles. I have no idea what the problem was because (thank god) I have done a lot of business with the dealer. They came and picked it up on the side of the highway, gave me back my trade, and tore up the contract. A week later I bought another identical truck (unfortunately from a different dealer, but that's a different story). I know most wouldn't have done what they did, but am I glad.
Don't let my screen name confuse ya, the truck I'm talking about was the '18 STX package with the 5.0

Ok folks last post was on 3-24-2018. A few new updates. The motor swallowed a valve. Wedged it between the piston and cylinder wall the tech said. Just sitting at idle it swallowed a valve. Never would of believed it if I hadn’t been there. Now originally the ford customer service rep said they would do a full motor replacement but I just got a message from her and she said they are only doing a short block replacement. Have a call into her about getting a clarification on that but it normally takes her at least two days to respond. Already has been three weeks with the damn loaner and it looks like it’s going to be at least 2-3 more. Ohio has a lemon law so I may have to look into that.
On a a side note did any of you get the recall done for the clip on the transmission? I just heard about that one today.
Ill ll try to keep everyone updated as this saga continues.

Ok just heard back from the customer service rep and they definitely are only replacing the short block. Heading down to the dealer tomorrow as they are closed now to get the whole story on why from them. I get the feeling this is going to turn into even more of a fiasco.
