2018 stx
Have a 2018 stx...a few days after getting it I put on dual exhaust so never really knew how it ran before getting it done but I notice the truck engine surges sometimes...is this normal on the stx...I heard the run a bit harder than other f150s or could the dual exhaust be causing it.

surging is the 10 speed transmission .. the way how Ford has programmed these trucks it skips gears and the transmission will get confused at times what gear it wants to be in. Using sport mode will heal the issue a little bit .. problem is Ford put a 10 speed transmission in a truck at is only to go 100 mph to impress the government on gas mileage..

i can't say 100% the exhaust isn't causing any issues .. you could always have the shop that installed it.. or if you did it yourself jack it up and check for leaks .. but on a Naturally Aspirated engine exhaust leaks wouldn't' cause major surging as a turbo engine would .. but its always best to check to eliminate that issue. However the 10 speed does exhibit this behavior
