Default 2018 stx

Have a 2018 stx...a few days after getting it I put on dual exhaust so never really knew how it ran before getting it done but I notice the truck engine surges sometimes...is this normal on the stx...I heard the run a bit harder than other f150s or could the dual exhaust be causing it.

first off what engine do you have .. and second STX's don't perform any different from other models .. performance is based on engine and transmission

surging is the 10 speed transmission .. the way how Ford has programmed these trucks it skips gears and the transmission will get confused at times what gear it wants to be in. Using sport mode will heal the issue a little bit .. problem is Ford put a 10 speed transmission in a truck at is only to go 100 mph to impress the government on gas mileage..

apparently if the truck was broken in hard it doesn't have consumption issues .. i know i'm guilty of the hard break in and driving like a nut case.. i have not had any oil issues

Sp nothing to do with my dual exhaust.. Am I got said I got the dog sauce that day after I got the truck so I really never experienced how it ran without it. As far ade the 10 speed I do see it skipping gears.. but that's just how the truck is?

i can't say 100% the exhaust isn't causing any issues .. you could always have the shop that installed it.. or if you did it yourself jack it up and check for leaks .. but on a Naturally Aspirated engine exhaust leaks wouldn't' cause major surging as a turbo engine would .. but its always best to check to eliminate that issue. However the 10 speed does exhibit this behavior

No, YOURS did, not necessarily all of them. Mine is an early build 2018, and does NOT use oil.

Don't you have a RAM forum to hang out in? Or are you just staying around here to spread sunshine?

Ok thanks... and it's not a problem with the transmission just the way it is?
