So... I am making the big leap and ordered a brand new 2018 Lariat Platinum white supercrew with a 5 1/2 bed, 4X4 with 3.73 gears. I had a hard time trying to figure out what options to go with but I ended up sticking it out with the 5.0 and the 10 speed. I just couldnt pull the trigger on the 3.5.

Anyway this will be my first F-150, I just sold my 2004 Mach 1 and currently daily a 99 ranger. Excited to finally have a nice comfortable and reliable ride.

Looking forward to doing some mods like a level or lift and wheels and tires. Interested in what the 5.0 motor will do paired with the new trans

She should be rolling off the line on the 25th and the dealer said it takes about a week to get to them, so a little over a week and I will be a brand new owner of a 2018 F-150!

 

Just picked mine up on Wednesday. Absolutely love the 5.0 with the Borla system on it, but the neighbors might not. Great trucks...you'll enjoy it.

 

Congrats! That was the other thing I was looking at was exhaust system. I loved the way my mustang sounded with SLPs on it. Borlas always sound good too!

What else do you have planned for it?

 

Not much... I put on a weathertech tonneau, Fuel Hydro with duratracs for the winter, and stubby antenna shaped like a bullet.

 

I have a 2015 Lariat Platinum White/Caribu two tone with the 5.0 and 3.73gears... the first thing i changed was the exhaust.. Gibson Dual Sport Catback... sounds amazing

I'm now waiting for my 2018 Lariat Ruby Red/Stone two tone 3.5EB 3.31gears to arrive....plan to keep the exhaust stock and only add a tune..

Keeping the 2015 together with the 2018...the best of both F150 worlds!

 

What is the drone like on that system?

 

Almost none while coasting off the gas or under light throttle. Moderate throttle it is always there of course.

This forum is awesome for making sure you are getting a good deal. Go over to the thread titles, Just tell us your under invoice price paid. Tons of help on that thread. It helps if you are super specific, like area, dealer, model and options you are looking at.

Most of the guys are posting about getting 2017 deals tho, but they did tell me you want to be shooting for around 10-12% discount before incentives.

As for the order, my area isnt known for good discounts. I am located in SC. the dealer I am working with gave me a discount right out the gate because I had been working with them on a 2017. I feel like any dealer will give you a discount off an order. Its a guarantee sale and they dont have to pay any money for it to sit on the lot.

Do some research and don't give in! Haggle until you feel like you are getting a good deal. Also if you keep calling ford and talk to an agent about incentives, ive heard they will end up giving you a $750 rebate on top of everything else. Currently thats what I am working on.

I was set on white but man that ruby red is sweet looking! Did you order that from the factory? What kind of discount did they give you? If you dont mind me asking. Ive been checking out the invoice thread on here and getting some tips
