How did a 2 year old octane thread get bumped?

Guess this is the weekly post about it...

Only 1.5 years old.
I use octane fuel in mine. Oops, I have a 3.5 so it's irrelevant.

E85 appears to offer better performance, but the owners manual says not to use it consistently. To use a tank of Non-E85 every third tank or so

E85 Definitely runs better than even 93 Octane. The MPG goes in the crapper but it runs like a scalded dog. Best MPG for me comes from 93 Octane from Sams Club. Cheaper than the average station too..

You should try mixing half tank of lemonade and half tank of iced tea. It's called an Arnold Palmer. Put some vodka in there and it rips!

It will run without an issue on pretty much anything that is not diesel. It will.run better on better gas but whether it's better enough to pay for is up to the individual. I spring for the mid or premium but am not interested and probably not able to change anyone else's mind.

I run 91. Without it I get too much pinging.

I switch between 87 and E85. I don’t own anything to tow, so it’s a DD and Home Depot hauler.

E85 doesn’t really make any sense around here. You’re looking at a 30% hit in MPG, for a <30% discount vs. even 91 octane. Every once in a while the stars line up and you get a jump in gas prices that doesn’t hit E85, AND I’m down at least half a tank.
