2018 5.0 502a package 36 gal fuel tank. Same thing, 1800 miles on in, when letting off accel pedal.. sounds like a little pop from underneath. Getting louder. First I thought it was the exhaust gurgling. Cant feel anything... just hear it.

It's not affecting performance as far as I can tell, so maybe most owners can't be bothered with bringing it in.

Got my truck back today. Waiting to receive paperwork, however the transmission is shifting smoother, that is definite, however still hearing pops. The sunroof popping sounds seem to be resolved, but I mainly noticed that with people in the back seat.

My 5.0 has been great; wouldn't any other engine.

Same here. I would buy it again without hesitation.
The only thing is that minor pop. I can't pin that one on the engine yet.
If I'm in 3rd gear and at a high rpm. When I goose it a bit, it'll do it when I let off. If I let off slowly or drive normal it doesn't make that sound.
So who the hell knows... Actually nobody apparently!

Drew, I have the exact same thing going on. I can say that my click/snap isn't always the same volume and I can actually manipulate it to make it happen.
If I accelerate then slowly let off, I can' barely hear it, or it's not doing it.
What I can do is get up to 20/30 mph and let off totally and it's loud, right on cue every time. I also can feel it, which feels like, under the front of the passenger footwell.
If I'm cruising along normally at 35 or 40 mph and give it a little gas and let off, I hear it again, every time.
I've been under the truck 4 times now and I can't find anything, plus it has to be moving. I can't just rev it in park and hear it.
Aside from that, everything else is great. I wouldn't discourage anyone from this powertrain. It's not the engine we're talking about it's the transmission.
It's the standard combo for the Platinum now.. I think Ford is plenty confident with this powertrain in basically their top of the line package.
We'll figure it out eventually and all will be fine..! It has been for 13 straight years, in 4 different trucks.
On a side note. I'm willing to bet if GM didn't have their hands in or around this 10 speed, there would be no issues.
Two friends, one with a 2014 Silverado and one with a 2016 Silverado. A total of 17 combined recalls with their transmissions.

did did you ever find out what the problem was? I am hearing the same exact sound. It is even louder when under heavier loads like pulling a trailer. Seems to happen at the same time as a shift to higher gears. Especially between 3rd through 6th. I have taken to the dealer several times, they have admitted they hear it but have offered zero support in trying to help solve the problem. All They tell me is to bring it back if it gets worse. Totally unacceptable. I’ve even tossed around the idea of selling the truck. But I don’t want the guilty conscience of putting someone else in this same position. Frustrating.

I'm a bit baffled that a year has passed and no one has been able to isolate it.
I should have taken more videos with the go-pro when it was warmer. I think I'm more focused on it now that the windows are up and it's whisper quiet except for that damn noise.
I've googled the hell out of it. Some mustang owners hear the same noise which is even crazier that they can't pinpoint it with so many hands in those engine bays.
Some have said it's a vacuum line off at the back of the intake and then some get into misfires. I think I'd know if it was a misfire and it's not. I would think a code would come up if a vacuum line was off, but who knows.
It has to be pressure related somehow. What's driving me crazy is I can manipulate it. Let off slowly, doesn't do. I'm pretty sure if I hammer it, it doesn't do it.
It's just right at that at normal operating speed, which you know how aggravating that is.
I'm hoping it's not inside the transmission or the engine.
Wish I had an answer for you, too.

I still don't know what it is. It's the only noise my truck makes, which is killing me, because aside from that, mine doesn't have any of the other issue's I'm reading about.
