I
have a 2018 4by 4 that shifts worse than any ford i have since 1954 and my dealer said it is normal .Is there any thing that can be done ?

Did you purchase it new or pre-owned?

 

You might need the truck flashed.

 

Have they checked the level..mine was shifting wierd on 3/4 and downshift 10/9/8....they checked level was down almost 2 liters...and I had an update done at first oil change..

 

I have a 2018 with minor issues with the transmission as well. Mine locked in 4th gear leaving the office one day. Took it to the dealership and they reprogramed it. Seemed to help some.

Also noticed that on cold mornings, unless I start the truck and warm it up, that it really shifts hard in lower gears. Around 3-4 up and down.
talked to Ford last week and said Ford was aware of the problem.

 

5 star made a huge difference

 

Mine wasn’t that bad but I had it reprogrammed and it got better. Go to the dealer and tell them it doesn’t shift right and they’ll update the software.

 

Mine shifts like buttah, and I have done nothing to it.
