Default 2017 Raptor power?

Does anyone know how ford got that much more power out of our 3.5s? More than just a computer program I take it?

You're asking the wrong question, how did Ford get 647 horsepower out of the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 in the Ford GT?

It's not hard. Nissan does it with the GTR.....only the GTR sounds better. ......Better internals, intake manifold design, fuel system, timing....turbos etc. Thought they use the same basic platform, the goals were very different with the GT vs. the F150...but man, I feel you! 647hp is nuts!

It's really the same power, they just did some fuzzy math using the four extra gears to calculate the new HP numbers.

What 4 extra gears? My 2017 Lariat has the same transmission as the Raptor.

For starters maybe, But seriously even the last gen, like our '16s can make major power with simple bolt ons, mine for instance, My dyno guy put it over 450 before I added the meth, and I'm still on stock turbos and intercoolers. Now I'm sure Boosted is above that with his changing turbo's and such. Now it's a matter of getting it to hook up without burning the tires off it. I carry 800 lbs of tools at all times and can still melt tires.

Yeah, it's easy to make more power on turbocharged vehicles if you're willing to throw aftermarket parts at it and remove exhaust aftertreatment systems. It's all a compromise though. OEMs have to worry more about emissions compliance, durability, cost, driveability concerns, than the average "tuner", so Ford arrived at a different solution to make 450 hp with the ecoboost.
