FWIW, they now have two weeks to get a transmission, have it delivered and installed before I am only accepting a check back. Even if they get it done in a week, they do not have much time left in the one year term of the lemon law to fix very much.. The way Ford is moving , they better get my check in the queue.
Just lemon law'd my RAM, that's how I ended up in a F150. 42 days out of service in 17 months. They didn't argue about it and after the paperwork was done, everything went smooth. Reason I say that is I used the same dealer for all the work, not sure if that played into it but I agree with you in keeping it there.

Now in regards to the 10speed. I spent 2 hours in bumper to bumper traffic and about an hour into it, the trans started shifting awkwardly. This was the first time I've driven it in traffic. Went away went the traffic ended. I have put 900 miles in two weeks, maybe it's still learning. The RAM 8speed had similar issues when the trans computer would be reset, but would go away too.

^^ Agree...I had to Lemon Law a car once and a state's "30" day in the shop rule is big hurdle. If a consumer has a car in a shop 30 days or more then its a pretty open an shut case (on the consumer's behalf).

I described the transmission noise like a loud vacuum pump, maybe some of the guru's here that have torn down transmissions may have a clue. Here is a video of the sound it was making when it was not working... (I just held the phone by the noise, did not try and be a videographer)

If service manager isn't helpful, perhaps the owner of the dealership you purchased from could help? Pulling it out and bringing to another dealer may not be the best thing at this point.

One of the 2017 Raptor owners who had to have his transmission replaced posted his concerns on his dealer and Ford Performance FaceBook pages. He received a call from someone at Ford who apologized at how he was being treated and got a new transmission shipped out and his truck was repaired and he was on his way in about a week, but only after his issues and concerns somehow got escalated.

The problem I see here is Ford developed a new 10 speed Transmission and rushed to get it installed and shipped in model year 2017 vehicles. Seems like it needed another year of R&D, but Sales & Marketing trumped Quality, Performance and Reliability!

You did not sign and agree to be a test subject and pay Ford $70k to R&D their new truck and transmission, did you? It's quite obvious it doesn't work, but they, FORD, on you time and money and inconvenience, are trying to figure what the problem is and how to fix. That's NOT your problem, it's easy, transmission doesn't work, replace with a new transmission immediately! Then the dealer can ship them t back to Ford to play with on their dime.

I would certainly check your states LEMON laws.

Best of Luck!

Finally, I will welcome the day when FORD returns to Quality is JOB 1.

Sorry just don't have the patience to get BS, any more!

Do you have any proof of that claim?

Probably going off of the fact that GM isn't putting it into their trucks and suv's until MY 2018. That coupled with the whole production/shipment delay on the 2017 f-150s when they had 1000s of finished trucks sitting at the factories waking for a fix.

GM is putting it in their Cameros so they are still using it, just not in their trucks. That doesn't really mean anything. Just because their was a production/shipment delay in no way means that it was rushed. Any number of things could have been discovered last minute that they wanted to tweak, doesn't mean it was rushed.

So still no facts to substantiate the claim that it was rushed.

GM put it in the ZL1 Camaro only and I would bet the produnction numbers on the ZL1 were <2000. A lot different than several hundred thousand f150's. Totally different sample sizes.

Well I am now 21 days out with no word yet of a fix, worse yet, when they do decide to communicate with me I now believe they are not telling me what they know, the mistrust and the money spent on this vehicle really bums me out, I really loved it...

Anyhow, I sent the state and Ford my Lemon Law notification letter to preserve my rights and put them on notice... even if they end up buying it back, I am now afraid of buying another 10 speed...... arghhhhhh!!!!!

The basic design is shared between GM and Ford just like the FWD 6-speed they are both currently using. Yep the Explorer and Traverse have been using GM/Ford transmissions for years. The programming and parts used are up to GM and Ford. The 6-speed has been very reliable for Ford but because GM chose not to heat treat certain parts they had lots of failures. GM starting out with the extremely low volume but most torturous vehicle they can put it in maybe their way of testing it before mass production. If their 10 speed can hold up at a long track day, handle the engines output and able to run 180+ mph I'm sure a Silverado won't be a problem. Ford should have stuck with it as a Raptor exclusive transmission for a couple of years to work the bugs out.
