Default 2017 build configuration - help requested

I'm working off the order guide to try and spec a 2017 and I think I have a build that works, but I'm hoping someone can tell me if I have chosen any options that aren't allowed together - or if I've missed anything important.

For example, when trying to configure a 2016 on the Ford build-it site, I can't seem to get 502A and a 3.73 axle on the same truck. I looked through the 2017 order guide and didn't see anything that prevented the two from being chosen at the same time, so please help me sanity check this. Thanks in advance!

Feature | Code

2017 F150 Lariat SuperCrew 6.5' Box | W1E
Race Red w/black interior | PQ
3.5L EcoBoost | 99G
Electronic 10-speed Auto transmission | 44G
E-locking 3.73 axle | XL6
502A Equipment group | 502A
Lariat Sport Appearance Package (w/502A) | 863
Max Trailer Tow Package (w/627) | 53C
Heavy Duty Payload Package | 627
Skid plates | 413

The only problem I see is the HD Payload with a lot of the options you want. Unless you absolutely need it, I would pass as it will limit a lot of the options you want. So you are gonna need to prioritize.

For example, you cant get 502A with it, or Race Red. Looking at the 2016 B&P the HD Payload definitely limits extra options. My 16 XLT without the HD Payload cargo capacity is about 1995 #'s, which isn't bad, so if you absolutely need the extra 600 #'s you are gonna give up some of your options.

You're right - I couldn't find where they excluded each other until I realized I wasn't looking at the Base / Mid / Luxury boxes. I was just reading the description.

I'm okay with ditching the HDPP, but really want to keep the 3.73 axle and it seems like I should be able to so long as I have the MTTP (which I also want), but I can't get the 502A and 3.73 on a truck at the same time with the 2016 configurator. What am I missing? Was this disallowed in 2016s but allowed on 2017s?

And what is with the color limiting some options. Why is that?

Not sure on the colors, would love to have a Sport in Ruby Red, but no such luck. The 3.55 is a pretty good gear set up, try adding FX4 that might give you the 3.73.

The 3.73 E-lock is only available with the HDPP on a 3.5L Ecoboost truck

I didn't see the tow mirrors listed, are they now part of another package? If not, they are very good if you tow a lot.

Thanks all for responding - specific feedback below.

On the 2016, I want to say it changes your 3.55 to 3.31, but I could be wrong.

True, but I don't want anything but the skids. I'm going to eventually lift with a coilover set and will toss the upgraded shocks. Most of the FX4 is fluff, IMHO. I'm sure the skids are mostly worthless, but I'm not rock crawling with this and don't need 3/16" plate steel skids like on my offroader.

That seems to be true on the 2016 configurator, but I can't see why it would be true on the 2017 order guide. You're probably right, but I can't find it in writing anywhere.

The MTTP says specifically that they must be ordered separately. I don't think I'll tow enough that I will want them 24x7.

OP, according to your list, you need to say bye bye to the HDPP and the 3.73 gear axle ratio if you keep your 502A option.
In page 26, It says P5 for 3.5 EB with 3.73, ok. But 5 in P5 means "Included in Heavy-Duty Package(627)" (maybe only), while the HDPP is not available in 501A & 502A.
