2017 5.0 4x4 6 speed transmission issues
Hi everyone, i post today to have your oppinions,
i buy a new truck last year (f150 2017 5.0 6speed transmission) and transmissions shift Closer than normal but it was ok for me.
Few months past and it began to shift close, sometime hard, bumping on stop and feel loose like neutral when it are totaly stopped on drive. (Drive shaft fall free and resume its spacing when relasing thé brake.
at 13000km i décided to go to dealer, he said me my truck have no anomaly, no computer issues but reset transmission Setting and shedule me a Roadtest with a tech.
after this reset its be better but, shift Closer than normal and drive shaft fall free when stopped on drive occasionnaly
On my roadtest with a tech he said me bah its a truck not a lincoln, your truck go very well, i see no problem on it and its can be the transmission électronic management but .... nothing more
now i have a new truck rolls like a old truck and this is frustrating.
Any idea? I know its a adaptative transmission and i drive sweet

I have these same problems with my transmission...exactly the same. I've had TSB 16-0015 done twice by the dealership, although it's been in for the issue now 5 times. No resolution. While I have other issues with the engine, the transmission refuses to downshift and lugs the truck now when giving moderate throttle. It started with sloppy shifts, lurching, etc...and has progressed to what seems like a problem with the lock-up converter not disengaging. It's loud, hesitates, and is slow to accelerate. The best way I can describe it is that I'm pulling a 13000 lbs trailer. It's awful. The good news is that it doesn't sound like many others have had problems with their transmissions, but I would still ask the dealership to check the fluid. Many have said theirs was low from the factory.

Sounds like a your truck is behaving exactly as normal. The 6R80 and/or the PCM calibration is not a buttery smooth in these trucks. My 2015 5.0 can be jerky, clunky and can have hard shifts when loaded. Yet other times smooth and perfect. It's just the nature of the truck.
I’ve been having stuttering and rough riding…thought I had bad gas or the roads were bad. It’s been doing this since 40k miles. I now have 95k my transmission is squealing and it’s getting worse. I’m paying $620 a month for a truck I bought new…have never towed anything…never driven in sport (manual) and my transmission is going out. This is ridiculous. I am now paying $620 a month and $200 full coverage insurance for my truck to sit until I replace the transmission or find a solution. If anyone knows of a fix please let me know. I don’t want to spend 10k on a 3 year old truck for a new transmission and I don’t want to ruin the truck either.
Has this been a reoccurring problem for the 5.0 6 speed in 2017? I just had the dealer basically replace everything in my transmission. The gears started grinding bad from 30-45mph so I took it in. They said they couldn’t find the cause but replaced everything that was worn. The also found significant metal shavings in the fluid. Should I be worried the problem will continue past my 100k warranty and leave me a hefty bill?

I just purchased a 2017 5.0 with 129k miles It had a slight shudder at highway speeds which has gotten worse I asked the dealer to service and they said they didn’t recommend opening up the transmission with such high miles
so I did it myself….fluid and filter change added some shudderstop. It made quite a mess but was not difficult and NO more shudder.

81700 miles I took my truck in for the transmission shutter at 30+ mph and above. It started about 75,ooo ish or so. The dealer is want $ 565.00 to flush, replace the filter and add an additive to the new fluid and told me this is what "FORD" recommends and "Thinks" will fix it. TO the post above that reported NO issues at 70,000.....Just wait!!!! Its coming!!!
