Default 2017 2.7 Payload Package??

We bought our 2017 XLT Sport used and without the window sticker available. We was told it has the 3.73 gear in it. 20 Inch wheels, 302A Luxury Pack, Nav and Pano Roof. How can I find out if it does in fact have the 3.73 with payload package or just a 3.73 rear gear?

Mine doesn't have it but as I recall the only way to get the 3.73 rear gear is to get the payload package. Look at your door placard and see what it shows as the payload capacity and the towing capacity.

that's the first thing I know of.

Plug in your VIN here for sticker (Sometimes doesn't appear available though, not sure why) http://www.windowsticker.forddirect....icker.pdf?VIN= enter your VIN after the "=" in that URL and then go to it.

IF that doesn't work, you can pull info from ETIS. Go here: www.ford.etis.com . Make a free account. Enter VIN, look under "minor features" for "vehicle summary". You'll see something like this (this is my truck):

Sorry I can’t tell where you are from. The 2.7 payload with 302A can only be configured that way if a Canada truck.

There is a label on the axle. Post your door jamb data and members can tell you if you have the payload package.

If you have the payload package you will have the 9.75" diff, not the 8.8" which comes standard on the 2.7

Here is a terrible photo of my 2.7 payload 9.75" diff.

Your door jamb also has a code for which rear axle you have.

I can confirm this is not true.
There are 2 2.7 payload packages. The one with the 9.75 is rare.
