2016 vs 2017

Does Sync Connect work on a 2016 with Sync 3? I am wondering if I can start my truck from my phone if I buy a 2016.

Nope.. You cant get sync connect in a 16. But you can get the r.s. app.

RS probably means "remote start".

Ford calls it "remote access":

From what I understand, it's very limited compared to what Connect is supposed to offer.

Ford remote start app. Its around 225 for the 2 modules, and 50 per yr.

It allows you to lock/unlock/start and find (honk horn & flash lights) vehicle. Sync connect will give you gas level and vehicle location.
