Default Waiting on Ford's response Vibration issue

I took my '16 XLT 4x4 in this morning for a driveline vibration. I searched this subject and most were either a little different than mine or much older thread so I decided to start a new one.

Truck was leveled and had new toyo at2 tires put on it by the dealership. I went with 33" p rated tires. I have LT rated on my '11. Ride is a little rigid.

Anyway... The dealership road force balanced them twice and all is good there. Could a bad tire cause this even when the balance has been checked? I have 1500 miles on the truck.

The vibration is most prominent at 20mph but can be felt at ~45mph and ~65mph. It makes a "drone" type noise and enough of a noise that I had a passenger ask what the noise was. It can be felt in gas pedal, steering wheel and shifter. The "drone" sound presents itself when coasting and in neutral as well as being in gear. The service writer said it wasn't right when we went for a test drive. Apparently the tech looked at it today and the dealership is waiting on a response from Ford.

Any ideas on what this could be? Thanks is advance for you patience with my being a picky.

Could be an IWE issue from the leveling kit install. Does the noise go away in 4x4? The older trucks would have this happen sporadically.

I have not tried in it 4x4 mode. Not sure why I didn't try that. Duh. Hopefully they will explore doing that. I will ask them tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up! The level is a procomp 2". So not too aggressive.

My truck is literally the same set up as what you say. I have 0 vibration issues.

Maybe your leveling kit was not put together correctly?

Thanks. I will ask them to check that as well. Still have not heard anything from Ford yet.

The dealer road force balanced them twice now. i hope that would be sufficient. If not maybe I kindly ask another tech to do the balance. Thanks for the input!

I have a vibration at higher speeds as well, dealer road force balanced them today and it helped some but not enough. My truck has 120 miles on it, bone stock. Dealer is saying I have to drive 2000 miles with the vibrations before Ford will warranty them out, does that sound right?

Mine has right at 1600 miles on it. I talked to them today and Ford had nothing to contribute and the tech was trying to figure it out today and had it on the rack again. At least the service writer and the tech agree that something is not right. I gave them all the ideas from here...you know they love that...but I'm just trying to help. From the pinion angle, tires, transfer case, driveshaft and the IWE issue. That's three days now. Luckily I have my '11 to drive while they work on the new one.
