hi
I have 2016 xlt key start. press button the key flips out of fob . got two admin keys as they call them.
have remote start and have to put key in iginition before I can drive.
also have undercover elite lx. I fillowed instructions put key in lock turned remove yellow band around tumbler.
mine works fine in the cover. turns easily just like ignition.
don't know if push button start fobs are different???
I see the fobs are different.
you might have to use the coded tag that came with your fobs to get dealer to cut a regular key for you.
I had a tough time getting the undercover tonneau delivered it took 5 weeks. almost cancled and was gonna get the leer 750 sport locally that cover unlocks when you unlock doors and tailgate with fob.

Thanks nethinim, I'm going to hold off until I hear back from Ford dealer. Undercover customer service said to use valet key. They were familiar with 2016 models and key fob. I must say, the Undercover Elite LX is awesome! It is the caribou color that matches the King Ranch trim. Really sharp looking cover. Mine only took two weeks to get here and most of that time was the ground shipment from warehouse in Missouri to nothern Virginia. It took all of 20 minutes to install.

That looks really sharp. I have the ruby red. Besides taking so long to get the tonneau there is a ding on the top happened in shippingnot real bad like a 32nd wide 1/4in long loke a finger nail mark. Did not want to deal with shipping back. They gave me 100 bucks off. Do you have bed rug also?
i do and with the carpeting on bottom of tonneau it looks great.
hope either ford or undercover works this out for you
also put amp resarch rear step as i dont have oem tailgate step

FWIW, I just picked up my 2016 Platinum 3 weeks ago and it came with the 2 keyless fobs plus a full size valet key. I wonder what dealers are doing with them if they're not giving them to the customer.

I have a 2016 Lariat and I have the Undercover Elite in black (not the XL). I can help you.
You truck was supposed to come with:
a) two fobs, each with a key inside, AND
b) a "glovebox/door" key - a heftier version of the emergency key inside the fob with a rubber topper embossed with the Ford Logo
DON'T CALL IT A VALET KEY, IT SCREWS UP EVERYONE AT FORD! It will work in the door (emergency if you pop the cover off, the glove box and spare tire). It will not work as a valet key nor start the vehicle.
It should be in the glove box, in the center console or on the key ring when you took delivery. Look hard, it is easy to miss. Attached to the same is a white piece of paper, with the phrase "key code" and some numbers.
If you have that paper with the code, walk into any dealer and head to the parts counter! Tell them you want a duplicate glovebox/door key and here is the code. if they are a decent sized dealer and have a laser cutter, they will make it on the spot. If not, they will order it for you. call around and see what parts guy at a dealer has a laser cutter and the "201? f150 glovebox/door key on their rotunda."
If you lost that paper, don't worry! Go to dealer parts counter who has the laser cutter, open your key fob and take out the emergency key. Tell them you want they key duplicated on the 201? glovebox/door key blank. If they act confused, tell them to check their rotunda- its the only key blank they have for the 2015, 2016 & 2017 models. They will likely make you leave it for a few hours, as they have to figure out the code to replicate it and then cut it. Its a process and takes a little while between everything else they are doing, bBut easily doable. They will cut the key and write the code on the envelope for you. SAVE THAT!
One you get that beefier key, use that to code the Undercover lock. I bought two spares at my dealer and paid $28. The original stays at home. The other sits in the console safe in the center compartment and the other is on my key ring. Trust me, the first time you accidentally lock the cover down with your keys in the bed you will understand why you need one in the console too!
I will post pics if need be but I will not be home until 8 pm tonight.
