Does anyone know what the latest version of sync 3 is? And Nav version is for a 2016 truck?

I tried to update yesterday. Downloaded the recommended Sync update and put it on a USB per instruction provided. I don't think my radio took the update as it is still version 18093 just like before. When I inserted the USB drive nothing happened from what I can tell (no blank screens or warnings, etc). Not sure what to think about that and there were no step by step instructions for the navigation radio.

 

Did you have the vehicle running? If the download is correct, it should automatically start to load.
And you need to download the files in exfat,

 

It took a fair time before I got any indication that the upgrade was in progress, and when I did get a message, it only showed up briefly in the very top portion of the screen, where you normally see outside temperature, phone info, etc. If I wasn't watching closely, I would have missed it.

After I got a message that the install was complete and restarted the truck, it looked like the update did not happen and still showed the earlier version. It took 2 starts before I got a message saying it was updated. After that, when I checked, it showed the newer version loaded.

 

Actually the same thing happened as described in post #6, except I didn't notice the brief message (if there was one) in the top portion of the screen. I did say it updated. That was a couple days ago and I guess I check to see if I have a newer version. I did have the truck running and formatted the USB drive in exfat.

 

I just did the sync and maps update worked great. Also make sure when you transfer from computer to usb thumb drive that you open the downloaded zip folder and tranfer only the files in the zip folder. Not the folder itself. Or it wont work.

 

I just checked again and I do have Sync version 19205 now, obviously it takes a few ignition cycles to process and display the update. My maps are 1.17 and I am not sure if it is worth upgrading which would cost at least $109.00 for the download version.

What is supposed to be different on 19205? Everything looks and works the same.

 

yes works and looks the same. I belive there are apps that will now work with sync that didn't before and I belive you need the new update to be able to update the nav map.
