Default 2016 Structural Integrity of RC & Super Cab

Anyone know if the Regular Cab and Super Cab have been reinforced in the 2016 model to compare with the Super Crew? The IIHS discovered that the 2015 Super Crew had extra reinforcement that allowed it to obtain a 5 Star rating in their tests, specifically the demanding frontal overlap test. The Regular Cab and Super Cab were discovered not to have this reinforcement and the cabins were compromised in the IIHS test. Ford responded that they would be adding the reinforcement to the 2016 model year. Did this occur?

I would not be surprised if they start calling back the supercabs and having the crash bar installed. It's a rather simple piece right off the front frame rail.

FWiW, there are two offset frontal overlap, the reg and supercab only suffered on the minor overlap(the smallest) test. The other overlap did the same rating.

I agree it's an over sight and should be looked into but it's a pretty specific test made even more specific by cutting way off to just in front of the tire.

Dont they crash into a stationary object? you would think a head-on slight clip collision would spin both cars. Maybe Im not thinking correctly, maybe they conduct it as a stationary object collision at 80 is like a head-on at 40?

Thanks for the help! Do you know if they installed crash bars on the 2016's from the factory?

Like i said, it appears so easy I would not be surprised if they didn't offer to have them installed on the R and scab trucks. I'd do it.

I would also, I was shocked that mine didn't come with them. Sad to find out that my life means nothing to them.
