Is this as simple as I need to replace the button in the door panel? the locks will unlock when you hit the button in the drivers side door panel, but they WILL NOT lock. they work just fine worh the other doors and the key fob

Yes, most likely the master door switch. Before change that, if you have a charger, I recommend charging up the battery to make sure it is fully charged and not contributing to the problem.
